Welcome to the New Website

We've completely rebuilt the Universal Components website to give you a faster, more modern experience for finding and ordering parts. Everything you could do on the old site is still here — along with a number of improvements.

What's new:

Signing In

The new website uses secure sign-in codes instead of a username and password. There's nothing to remember — we send a code to your email each time you sign in.

How It Works

1
Enter your email address Go to the sign-in page and type the email address registered to your UC account. This is the only thing you need.
2
Check your inbox We'll send you an email containing a 6-digit code and a clickable sign-in link. Use whichever is easier for you.
3
Enter the code or click the link Type the 6-digit code into the boxes on screen, or simply click the link in the email. Either way, you'll be signed in straight away.

Code Expiry and Resending

Each code is valid for 5 minutes. If it expires before you use it, just click Resend code on the sign-in page and we'll send a new one. You can request a new code every 30 seconds.

Signing Out

Click Logout in the top-right corner of any page. You'll be returned to the sign-in page.

Why No Username and Password?

Sign-in codes are simpler and more secure than traditional passwords:

Need to update your email address? If the email address on your account is out of date or you no longer have access to it, you won't be able to receive sign-in codes. Email web.support@ucukltd.com with your name, UC account number, your old email address, and your new email address, and the team will update it for you. Alternatively, you can simply register a new account using your new email address — your old account will be disabled automatically after a period of inactivity. This is the most important step if you haven't updated your contact details in a while.

Getting Logged Out Unexpectedly?

If you find you're being logged out repeatedly, the most likely cause is that someone else is signing in with the same email address. When another person signs in on a different computer, you'll be logged out automatically. This is why each person needs their own individual email — sharing an account means you'll keep interrupting each other's sessions. Make sure everyone who uses the website has their own personal work email registered.

Tips for a Smooth Sign-In

Registering a New Account

If you don't yet have an account on the new website, you'll need to register. Registration is available to UC trade account holders.

Who Needs to Register?

What You'll Need

One person, one email Each person who uses the website must register with an email address that only they have access to. Shared department email addresses (e.g. parts.dept@company.com) won't work properly — your order history, basket, and favourites would get mixed up between colleagues. Use your own individual work email to keep everything separate.

Registration Steps

1
Go to the registration page Click Register on the sign-in page.
2
Fill in your details Enter your name, email address, and UC account number.
3
Confirm your email We'll send a confirmation email to the address you provided. Click the link in that email to verify it's yours.
4
Wait for your account to be reviewed Your registration will be reviewed and you'll receive an email when your account is ready. This usually doesn't take long.

Homepage & Navigation

The homepage is your starting point for searching, browsing, and managing your account.

Header Bar

The header bar appears on every page and gives you quick access to the most important features:

Navigation Menu

The main navigation menu includes links to Home, Products (with a mega-menu for browsing categories), News, About, Getting Started, and Media Centre.

Homepage Content

Footer

The footer on every page includes quick links, customer service links, full contact information, social media links (Facebook, LinkedIn), and links to privacy, terms and conditions, and other policies.

Searching for Products

The search bar is the fastest way to find parts. You can search by part number, OEM cross-reference number, or descriptive keyword. Results appear as you type (quick search), or you can press Enter for the full results page.

Quick Search (Type-Ahead)

As you start typing, suggested results appear below the search bar with direct links to products. Click a result to go straight to that product.

Search Results Page

The full search results page shows all matching products in a grid layout. Each product card displays the brand logo, product image, part number, and description. Prices load live — you may see a brief loading indicator before the price appears.

Filters

A collapsible filter panel on the left-hand side lets you narrow down results. Available filters vary depending on the products returned, and may include:

Active filters are shown as badges at the top of the filter panel. Click a badge to remove that filter, or use Clear All to reset.

Sorting and Pagination

Sort results by relevance, price, name, or part number. You can also choose how many products to show per page (24 or 48).

Favourites

Click the heart icon on any product card to save it to your favourites for quick access later.

Browsing by Category

The Categories page lists all top-level product categories, each with numbered subcategories. Click a category to see all products in that group, or drill down into a subcategory for a more specific list.

Category pages use the same filters, sorting, and pagination as search results, so you can narrow down large categories just as easily.

You can also access categories via the Products mega-menu in the main navigation, which shows categories organised by Website Index, Vehicles, and Engine.

Browsing by Brand

Brand pages list all products from a specific manufacturer. You can reach them via the brand logos on the homepage, or via brand links throughout the site. Brand pages have the same filter, sort, and pagination features as search results.

Product Detail

The product detail page shows everything we know about a part. Not all features appear on every product — what you see depends on the information available and the status of the part.

Core Information

Pricing

Your trade price (Ex VAT) is loaded live and displayed on the product page. Prices are specific to your account.

Stock Availability

Stock information is loaded live and shown next to the price. You'll see one of the following:

Special Order ItemCan be ordered even when out of stock, but please note these items are non-returnable

Dispatch Countdown

When a product is in stock, you may see a same-day dispatch countdown (e.g. "Order by 9:30 for same-day dispatch"). This tells you the cut-off time for your delivery method.

Due Dates

When a part is out of stock but on order from the supplier, expected delivery dates are shown so you know when it's likely to be available.

Unit of Issue

Some products are sold in set multiples (e.g. packs of 10). When this applies, the quantity input will enforce the correct multiple and a note will appear (e.g. "Sold in multiples of 10").

Ordering

Related Products

Depending on the product, you may see one or more of the following sections below the main product information:

Supersession

If a part has been superseded by a newer replacement, a banner at the top of the page will link you directly to the replacement product.

Cross References

An expandable section lists OEM cross-reference numbers for the product. This helps you match parts across different manufacturers' catalogues.

Specifications

Where available, an expandable section shows product attributes and technical specifications such as weight, dimensions, and other characteristics.

Exchange / Surcharge

Some products carry an exchange or surcharge. Where applicable, this information is displayed on the product page.

Stock Alerts

If a product is out of stock, you can subscribe to a stock alert. You'll receive a notification when the part is back in stock.

Make an Offer

Clearance items may show a "Make Offer" button, allowing you to submit an offer for the product.

Report an Issue

If you spot incorrect or missing product information, click "Something wrong? Report it here" at the bottom of the product page to let us know.
